There must be some truth in that saying. Today has been the most gorgeous day. Sunshine, a light breeze and 17C. It feels so good to soak up the sun after such an arduous winter. The daffodils and tulips are nearly there...
Honey is on constant "chase the geese" duty- the last thing we want is the geese nesting on our lawn- they will attack you if they have goslings.

And yes! BARE feet. Very white and winter worn bare feet, but so lovely to feel the sun on them. I said to Matt the other day that it feels like months since I've been truly warm at home. Our house is notoriously difficult to heat and I spent most of winter with 2 pairs of socks and ugg boots and wearing my coat inside.
I took Honey for a big long walk today, she hasn't had many LONG walks over the winter with all the snow everywhere. She was pretty tired when we got back. She lay in the sun for a while, but her big thick winter coat is still on (URG! I dread the shed!) and she had to have a lie in the shade. Not Lilly though- she's always in the warmest spot, where ever it is.
And my other lucky surprise today- to come home from my walk at lunch time and find Matt home. It seems that he had enough of the excessive noise of bands warming up right by his office for the St. Patrick's Day parade, and got out of of the city before things got too crazy. Everyone in NYC is Irish today. I think he was quite happy to be able to soak up some sun and then go off to the boy's rugby training. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY wishes to MAGGIE from all of us (for tomorrow).
Oh, enjoy of all the sun and warmth and vitamin D. The cat looks so happy. Ken & I went for a beer at an Irish pub at Salamanca cause I had the afternoon off but we had to go home and flake on our couches afterwards. Everyone was wearing tall green Guiness hats, and there was music. Happy birthday Maggie xx
