mistaken

One could almost have been mistaken this morning for thinking that Spring was on the way.
After battling the build up of snow and ice in VT (the boys spent most of yesterday scraping ice off the roof in places- we'd had 2 leaks), we came back "down south" to find that the level of snow had gone down, and where the sun had melted it slick in places, the animals could walk ON TOP of it.

They were quite beside themselves with joy. Not me though- I still clunk down through that crust. But it is beautiful the way it shines in the rising (ever earlier each morning) sun. And beyond it, in the pond- water not entirely ice.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves...it's not spring yet. More rain/snow on the way tonight.

Shouldn't you be skyping? Or at least explaining it?

  3. The colours are beautiful. I feel sorry for the poor pussy cat paws though - that would be cold!! I hope you both had suitable birthday celebrations in Vermont.
