Simple things

We got up to VT late on Friday night, so Saturday morning was spent sleeping in and taking it easy. Although there was work needing to be done in the boys room, I couldn't face a full on moving furniture around painting day. So I pottered. And I painted the boy's book cases.
I am so happy with how these turned out. I painted the inside of them the same colour as the wall behind as otherwise we were just covering up that glorious colour. These were left over from the huge big corner cabinet we ripped out from down in the lounge on the first weekend we moved in.
Check out the difference from here. I'm particularly pleased as I mixed the darker blue colour from paint samples and other paint. I love the colour and I'm thinking about using it on the beam that runs down the middle of the room too. And I may have to get rid of my shed bed head...And the rest of the red from the room.

We also had a lovely night on Saturday night with our Scottish friends at a Burn's night they hosted. I tried Haggis for the first time and LOVED it. YUM.

They look fabulous George - a beautiful blue. Reckon the centre beam would look good in it too - like a bolt from the blue. I wish you could come and potter at our place...

  2. Actually I also reckon the centre beam should be the colour of the book case...
