I'm loving all the frames that I'm getting from the house. Really expensive frames with prints in them. I was able to reuse this one- finally framed the gorgeous art work Matt and I bought in Paris a few years ago as just a flat canvas.
This one was some flowers printed on a cardboard like surface. I gessoed over the top and then today I did this painting in pastels. I just about rubbed off my fingerprint blending all those chalks on the rough surface. I'm loving the colours, although I can see the body's not quite right- unfortunately I don't have any sketches left. All my nudes come from my head these days. And this is the flue cover I'm making for the hole in the fireplace in VT where there was a wood stove, but where we can't put another one in because now the furnace vents through that chimney and by law you can only have one going up. We have to cover the hole to prevent fumes coming in. We bought this ugly metal plug thing for it thinking we'd find something nicer online, but after hours of searching today (if anyone has a good link to send me I'd be happy for it) I couldn't find anything I liked, so I decided to make one from fimo like my jewellry (except heaps bigger) to glue on the ugly metal cover...this is just after it was baked. I'll show the finished product later.
This house is really inspiring you guys to be creative!! I love the French picture and your nude. Will try and catch you over the next couple of days to have a big chat!
