couleur

I was lucky enough to receive a surprise present in the mail yesterday... a lovely book about the French home from my lovely step Maggie. It is so totally perfect in that it supports my ideas for the colour scheme of the house. I went through a paint book today and cut out only the colours I was interested in- greys and sages and almost purple greys (the yellow is for the "morning room"). (The colours haven't quite come out true in this photo.)

So like the colours in the book. Stone colours. Neutral washed out colours. These colours immediately spoke to me as what this house wanted. I'm not sure if it's the quality of the light up there, or the influence of all the wonderful greys I saw on my trip to Wales, but these are the colours I had in mind for the house almost immediately. And there they are in this book.
Now, I hope I'm not jinxing our new closing date of THIS Friday by preparing my little cut out colours to take up...
