ok, so i haven't totally left Wales behind...

An interpretation, rather than a literal representation, of Carn Llidi (with maybe a little bit of Mt. Wellington in Hobart thrown in subliminally- I did look at for many days of my life while growing up). This painting has been through many incarnations- I should really photograph each stage as it changes so much every time I go back to it. Even now I'm not sure that it is in it's finished state...

  1. It's absolutely beautiful with a Van Gogh feel (I hope you like him)to it because it's so flowing. I hope the subliminal Mt Wellington means you're coming home for a visit one day. mum xxx

  2. Good to see some "art" for a change, looks more like Mt Wellington to me than Carn Llidi, mind you nothing at all wrong with a bit of Bellerive art...exactly 13 years to the day that we had our Bellerive drawings of Emma competition.

  4. Yes, I can see both mountains. The sky is Carn Llidi and St David's for me - a suggestion of the magical. The green base seems more Mt Wellington. It's funny that I think of mountains in Australia being purple with distance but I know that there's purple rock in West Wales. I expect to see the seagull in the painting but that may be too similar a style to the work of the artist whose cards you bought.
