Counting down

Only 3 more sleeps until we go away for a week's vacation to Grand Cayman. I'm starting to think about packing- the kids have new bathers and we have 2 water proof cast protectors for Kit. They are supposed to be guaranteed- but we'll have to just check it out. And today we got 2 life vests- one for Ella and one for Kit. Ella gets a bit scared in deep water and I remembered when Oscar and Remi were little and we were snorkelling in Malaysia that they wore life vests and it was brilliant. So we got one for Ella, and then I thought about Kit trying to swim with his arm in a cast and thought maybe it would be good to get one for him too. We'll have to see how it all pans out. We may end up doing this even though it's expensive- it might be a better way for Kit to see the sea.

But until we go we are enjoying the spring weather. It's still a bit unpredictable (yesterday was cold, and windy- Friday was wet- but last Wednesday was 32C!), so we tend to make the most of the nice days. Today was warmish and windy- perfect washing drying weather (which is good because I'm trying to get all the washing done before we go).

Unfortunately I think we'll miss the blossoms coming out on the apple tree- they are just tiny little buds right now. I love apple blossoms.
But the kids (and pets) all had a lovely day playing outside until it clouded over this evening.
The grass is always so soft and long this time of the year (we haven't had the gardeners come and mow yet)

And the daffodils may be on the way out, but the tulips are blooming all over the garden.

Ella had a lovely time playing in the reeds. I loved the look of her blue hoodie against the yellow of the reeds.

We'll be busy over the next few days getting everything ready to go, so I won't be back here for 10 days. I'll take lots of photos. See you next week!!!
