tissue paper

Our gorgeous, warm, sunshiny, sit-out-on-the-veranda days from last week have well and truly past. Today is cold, wet, windy and dark- last night was punctuated with icy rain smacking against the windows when the wind gusted. Oh and there is flooding- the basement floor is already wet. The perfect day for staying inside. Except Oscar and Matt are off to rugby training right now- Oscar's first game is tomorrow. Not sure I'm looking forward to standing out in the rain cheering him on. Matt's spent all morning cooking up 2 big pots of Chili to feed the boys after the game- it smells so good!
Fortunately earlier in the week I felt creatively inspired to make this representation of SPRING for Ella from tissue paper and very cheap lanterns (thanks for the inspiration, Chels). I would have loved to have strung this up in the lounge room but I thought the boys might openly revolt- besides the colours work so well against the green of Ella and Kit's bedroom. So glad to have a girl! (that is a real cat by the way- Ella stayed at her friend's last night so all her toy animals that are usually snuggled up on the bed went with her.)
And I thought it was probably time to take down my Christmas wreath- a bit more tissue paper, a $3 cane wreath, glue gun and Voila!
A reminder that Spring is actually here.

  1. photo 1... Could you take a photo from that same spot every day, same time for the next week or so just so we can see what actually happens in spring...yes I know an arty sort of project, but what else would you expect...pictures of you doing the seventh pattern? I suppose that would be a reasonable alternative.

  2. I loved the Spring display, but I'm sorry that the Spring was so short lived!
