Lovely day
I had the most lovely day yesterday. While Matt took the kids skiing, I went into the city to meet with my gorgeously lovely friend, Hilde who was here for the weekend for work. It is the strangest feeling to have known someone, for less than a year, so many years ago, and yet when we get together, well, it is just so easy. SO easy. It is lovely. It probably has a lot to do with the similar paths our lives have taken. She is my age and her eldest is the same age as Oscar. She's lived in Africa. But even so, it's just so nice to connect with someone so well. We had breakfast in Grand Central station, walked up 5th Avenue to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and had a lovely time, wandering, talking, stopping for lunch. No photos. We were too deep in conversation to even think about it. But such a lovely day.

I'm so glad you caught up with her. I hope this means she lives in the USA now, and wasn't just there on holiday. Mum xx
ReplyDeleteNo mum- she lives in Norway. She works for the Norwegian govt- women's rights and issues in conflict zones- quite tragic some of the stories she tells. She sometimes has meetings with the UN, which is why she gets to come to NY.
ReplyDeleteohh that sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a lovely day, Georgia! I am finally back home in Oslo with the family. I loved catching up with you again, it's like you say, we just connect! Håper vi ses snart min venn!
