They called a snow day! For TOMORROW!!! I've lived in this part of the world for nearly 7 years all told and I've never seen them call a snow day the day BEFORE the snow comes. it's 10:35 pm and a few flurries are starting to fall.
We are all so happy- all so in need of a day off. I know we have all next week off, but this time of year it all just seems too hard. Oscar's been unwell, my toe is giving me grief ( I have a whole new level of AWE for my two sons who have suffered through two broken arms each!).And somewhere today after my doctors appointment, getting Matt's snow boots fixed and dropping off the dry cleaning, this little painting just popped into my head. It's so totally different from anything that I've ever done before that I think I may have been temporarily posessed. Don't be shocked if I send these out as Christmas cards this year- totally cute; totally UN me.
I REALLY hope we get the snow- I'd even put up with the conditions they've had around the DC area for a bit of RELAXING time. I'm quite happy to hunker down for a day. And I'm sure the kids will be happy with more snow- we're off to VT this weekend for the long weekend. THEY will be skiing- not poor ol' broken toe me. Fortunately I have a great book. And Matt and I will go out to dinner together on Saturday night to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. I'm SO glad we got married the day before Valentines day- it means that I don't give a toss about it!
I may be back with snowy photos tomorrow....
and I thought my art was changing
ReplyDeleteit's folksy and cute - a bit of subliminal Norsk??? Will make a great Christmas card. Have a great weekend and a romantic Saturday. XXXX
ReplyDeleteWow, the snow sounds gorgeous, no wonder the painting has happy chappies. And 17 years of mariage, I can't believe it!! Congrats. (I'm feeling much older now).
