But we've got out some movies and have been watching some others that we have already, and been catching up with episodes of Dr. Who on BBC America. I have even knitted a hat for Oscar and started one for me since Friday. Believe it or not, I'd never knitted cables before. I honestly thought that they were complicated and could never understand those picture graphs. So I did a quick research on how they were done (very simple crossover) and made up my own pattern for Oscar's hat. Since I found that so easy, I decided to try to read a pattern in a book I have for a Tam o' Shanter. I've been eyeing off this pattern for years, but was always too scared to try it. I'm using some wool I dyed and spun ages ago, and so far I've only had to pull back a couple of rows and re do it. Not so bad considering my head feels like it's about to burst out of my skin and that I was watch the Doctor in "the end of time". I don't think I'll manage much more than some knitting today- maybe some washing too as I have all our going away washing to catch up on. Kit and Ella are supposed to be doing a performance of the nutcracker at a hospital today. Kit went to rehearsals yesterday, but Ella hasn't eaten since Friday and is still looking pretty under the weather, so we will see how she is by this afternoon.

Greetings from the elephant woman!
Or at least, that's what I feel like. The shingles in on my face and the whole right side of my head is swollen and very uncomfortable. I've had shingles before (always on my face) but not for 10 years or so. Thankfully we have a long weekend (MLK day) so I'm able to hide myself away from the world for a few days until the medication kicks in (I really wish it would hurry up). And we're all kind of bunkering down right now as the terrible tummy bug that hit Kit and I in Toronto hit the rest of the family here on Friday night- the bathroom was as busy as Piccadilly Station all night. I had to wash 2 lots of bedding yesterday. JUST what I felt like doing I can tell you.
