My Christmas wreath-I picked up an old vine wreath at the thrift store, spray painted it red and then with fine gold wire I wound on the lovely pine cones Ella and I have been collecting (they smell so good but make your hands so sticky) and
my acorns. I like it. Although I love a big green pine needle wreath on the door, I don't love the mess of needles that end up all over the floor. This is a good clean wreath. But it means I exhausted my supply of acorns and will have to knit more.

And I'm actually looking forward to knitting little acorns again because I FINALLY finished my 10 hats for my friend today. The final one is drying on the balloon (best way to dry a hat by the way). Not sure I would take on that kind of commitment again. It has felt like a bit of a chore.

Life had to kind of be put on hold for a while to make sure I got these done before she left for Australia next week. I only hope that all her male relatives appreciate it. Me, I'm just looking forward to now being able to afford a new lens for my Canon. (these shots were all taken with my little point and shoot).
Kit very kindly offered to model them all for me. The first 3 of them are sized big.

This red and black one is Kit's favourite, and while I would quite happily never knit a hat again...or at least for a while... both Kit and Remi have fallen in love with some of these hats and are begging for some for Christmas.
Looks like I'd better get back to my needles...
ohhh I love your wreath! So beautiful... George, we could do a cracking stall together one day!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe wreath looks beautiful with the acorns and pine cones Georgia. I like my acorn too. How did you ever think of that? Probably the answer is back there on your blog - I'll take a look. I'm so glad you got paid for the hats as they look like a lot of work. Good for the Ski season though> mumxx
