Foxy

Matt went to pick the kids up from ballet for me last night. I heard the car come down the drive (it was just before 8pm) and suddenly Kit came running in saying "quick! Come and see the fox". He'd seen the fox as they were coming in- he thought it was Honey- Matt stopped the car with the head lights on it. We came out and watched it for a few minutes- it was sniffing around all the holes in the wall by the pond. We get lots of rabbits and little water birds, so I guess that's what it was looking at. Very cute, but slightly scary! Of course, I didn't think to grab my camera, but it was probably too dark anyway. And Matt and Remi had a coyote run out in front of the car on Sunday when they were driving back from skiing. That trip (which should take roughly 2 hours) took them 4 1/2 as they had snow then heavy rain and there were many accidents on the road. He had to catch a train to Boston and literally got to the station 3 minutes before his train was due to leave.

A Fox! Hopefully not something you would ever see in Tasmania...or for that matter neither would you be catching a train...of course foxes are not seen as friends in country Australia, even if reasonably common, and it is possible, in some places anyway, to catch trains. No coyotes but...a rarely a dingo...
