Anticipation

The kids are so excited about Christmas this year. I don't know whether it's that there's still snow on the ground or whether we just timed the run up right.

Fortunately Kit's bug was a quick one. I was able to go in and do my Christmas craft with Ella's class and then go out to dinner with Matt for his work dinner. And after a half day of school today I was able to take Kit and Ella out to do their Christmas shopping. They came home and wrapped and then played in the snow until it got too dark and too cold. We then cosied up by the fire and watched a few Christmas movies.

It's been lovely. It almost feels like Christmas is tomorrow. But we don't have the wonderful smells of Matt's cooking filling the house yet. So to leave you for a few days, I thought I'd share some of my favourite Christmas views around the house...
Our advent calendar which the kids LOVE. We fill the pockets with little chocolates and they have them after dinner.
From the dining room into the lounge- the different garlands hanging over the door ways...our enormous stockings hanging around the dining room.
The little clusters of Christmas that the children leave around the place.
Our cards on ribbons...I bought cute little mini Christmas pegs (clothes pins) a few years ago- I need more. I love hanging the cards vertically like that.
Ella's ever growing snow globe collection.
While I was taking photos, Matt came down with his newly wrapped pressies to put under the tree- the kids were watching very carefully...
I love that I caught this one- Kit beside himself with excitement.

A merry Christmas to you all...or in the words of Baldrick from Blackadder's Christmas Carol,
A very Merry Messy Christmas!
