9

This little girl is 9 today. She's looking a bit tired after late night rehearsals last night. But she was happy to get up early for pancakes and pressies this morning before school.
These were the cupcakes that I made for her to take into school- at her request. You get to see photos from the book as mine failed a bit. You are supposed to cook the cupcakes so they muffin out over the top- but I thought I'd be clever and buy a couple of plastic cup cake carriers that hold 12 cup cakes each- but they only work with normal sized muffins so I had to chop the extra mushroom top off and they didn't look so great. Nice idea though.

So much so that they inspired the cake I made for her tonight with some help of some marzipan I whipped up. That's a mouse- Ella likes mice. And a Tim Tam log....

And we're a bit excited because we are expecting snow tomorrow. It was very cold this morning (-11C with a windchill of -19C) and the ground is nice and frozen. So hopefully along with photos of my little two in the Nutcracker I'll have some photos of snow.

But until then I'll leave you with some of the snowflakes around my house.
Snowflakes on the window...
Snowflakes on the tree...
Snowflakes on the roof of my "gingerbread house" mock up for the craft I'm doing with Ella's class on Tuesday... The original idea came from here.
My favourite snowflakes- the shadows that appear on the curtains in the afternoon when I have to close them so I can use the computer.
And more window ones because I really do love them. Hopefully that blue ski will be filled with flakes by tomorrow night.
