acorns

Well the mushroom obsession got me thinking about woodland scenes...So I added some felt pebbles...But that still wasn't enough, and then I thought; "why not felt ACORNS!" A quick internet search led to these... (and various other versions using actual acorn caps) but that wasn't what I wanted. So I thought I'd just start knitting and see what I could come up with.
And little acorns were born. I love these. And so does Ella, she keeps fondling them.
They're about 3 inches from the top of the stem to the bottom. And so quick and easy to make. I made these 5 yesterday.
I'm still ironing out some issues with the pattern (I always seem to end up with that extra stitch), but then I'll post the pattern for you. Wouldn't these make cute little Christmas decorations? I see some more of these being whipped up for gifts. You could even have them on the outside of a gift!
And they make a perfect addition to my woodland scene...
