Some more paintings I've been doing over the last few days.
I've been trying out different papers. The two above were done in my hand made paper note book.
These two were done in another little sketch book I have. I love this kind of brown almost packing paper.A page from an old falling apart book. Yesterday we went to the library book sale. I spent $20 on books and came home with 3 big bags full. That should kick start our summer reading. 3 of them were really old falling apart books.
And watercolour paper.
We've had 2 days in a row with NO RAIN! Unbelievable. Although I just looked at the weather and there's supposed to be more thunderstorms tonight.
Hope you had a good weekend!
You are SO good!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you've just slipped over into the genius zone! LOVING these paintings and the prints from last time. Your mushrooms (toadstools, fungi, whatever) are truly beautiful!! If you're thinking of selling them I HAVE to have the green one. I'd buy it right now. Wendy xx
ReplyDeleteWendy, do you like it because it's on the printed page? Or because of the green? I'll do you one especially if you want....
ReplyDeleteThat one how it is, is just divine. I think perhaps the words behind add to the 3D-ness (getting technical now) of the fungi. I'm not as obsessed over the cross-section drawing, but the
ReplyDeletetall green fungi - my gosh! The depth, the perspective, the shading, the tones, and in the little one, the character of it, literally reaching out to hold his cap on - cute as a button! The green is neither here nor there, I love the other colours too, but those two mushrooms, the drawings are beautifully executed!
So if you can't capture it again, exactly the same, I'd just like that one. To cut a short story long. Thanks! Wendy xx
