We had a gorgeous day for Remi's birthday. The rain stopped, and the sun came out. Yes, it was still windy and quite nippy, but the sun was lovely. So lovely that we had Remi's birthday lunch outside...with a fire-The first BBQ of the season.
We had lovely food.Including a chocolate birthday cake. It was so windy that we couldn't keep the candles lit.
Remi didn't seem to mind.
Ella had the camera and was happily snapping shots of us all.
And her foot shot. EVERY time Ella uses the camera, I find photos of feet.
And lots of photos of Honey.
Remi with his birthday present from us- a mobile phone. He's been wanting one for a while and we made him wait until he was 13. It will actually be quite handy as he's started playing soccer, and I have to pick him up at the same time that I have to drop off Kit and Ella somewhere else...
He's pretty happy with it. We have unlimited texting so he and Oscar sit in the same room texting each other.
Matt got out the guitar (and don't you love all the washing drying on the line in the back ground).
Balls came out...
Along with the daffodils.
Hand stands were practised...by Ella
And Kit....
While Matt relaxed in the hammock.
The kids ran around (I love it when the weather is nice enough to play on the grass-although, it was a little muddy after all the rain)
Matt still relaxed in the hammock...
And the kids still played.
We stayed out until it was too cold. It was really truly lovely. The nicest day we've had in WEEKS. Today it was back to rain and thunder and more rain...which will be with us until Thursday. Not really what you want when you have 4 kids home for a week holiday. So Wednesday night we're driving up to VT for Easter. I don't think there will be much snow (in fact, I think it will be mostly MUD) but it should be fun none the less. Sunday is the last day of the ski season and as well as Easter egg hunts on the slopes, they will be having pond skimming...
If you don't know what that is, I'm not entirely sure myself, but I hope to have photos when we get back. Have a great week, and I hope the Easter bunny is kind to you.
All that Muddy Water stuff to celebrate all the birthday on Muddy Waters Day...has Remi Mars got an email address yet? Or was the phone an Apple and therefore he doesn't need one.
ReplyDeleteLoved the photos of the birthday celebration and I look forward to hearing a detailed description of the pond skimming! (with stones?) Have a wonderful time in Vermont.
ReplyDeleteLooks good. May we all have as much fun and pleasure over Easter. Can't wait.
