Winter scenes

The kids made the most of the snow. Here's Remi, Oscar and Honey in the "igloo" before it collapsed.
And lovely snow photos of drifts of snow....
Glad we made the most of it as today there was sleet then rain then more snow then freezing winds. Everything is now hard and icy.
But we got to watch Kit and Ella's performance in the Nutcracker. It was the last one after and exhausting weekend. We dragged (and I really mean DRAGGED) along the older boys and our friends came too.Kit's in the white shirt sitting down and Ella standing with the doll....just to give you an idea of the set.
The party dance.
Nutcracker Kit battling the mice.
The nutcracker showing Clara his kingdom.
Nutcracker and Clara sitting on their thrones watching the other dancers. And the finale.
They both loved doing it, even though it has been a lot of hard work. Kit's already saying that he wants to do it again next year. I said to him that he'd have to do ballet again next year (he had said that this was going to be his last year) but he's adamant that he wants to do it again. Think he's the kind of child who loves to perform. He didn't want to leave at the end...just wanted to hang out with the cast.
But home we went with our friends to celebrate Ella's birthday AGAIN. She actually does quite well out of having her birthday so close to Christmas...she has a rolling birthday for most of December!
Think she got into the whole performance thing after the nutcracker too!
Only one and a half more days of school....I can't believe how close it is until Christmas.

Wonderful, George. Congratulations to Ella and Kit - their performance looks magic. And Happy Birthday to Ella from the slackest grandmother in the Far West.
Sissi and Rose have cooled down watching Honey in her ice cave - 38 degrees C here today.
And don't the chairs look elegant with their snow covering - like ermine.

Teh photos of the Nutcracker are so lovely - thanks so much for taking them. I gather Kit had the leading role, as he was the only boy? Good to know he's such a performer; if it's not dance in the future it will be other outlet I reckon. Beautiful snow pictures. It looks quite deep and very cold, although the inhabitants of the igloo look cosy. I agree with Maggie about the chairs. mum xx
