Here is our lovely Honey, just over a year old.

Today we had gorgeous weather again (around 26 C, my favourite) and Oscar and Kit decided to go out for a kayak again. Honey spent the whole time running along the edge of the pond, and while she will go down steps to go into a swimming pool and walk into the pond when the tide is low (yuck- we have to hose all the mucky mud off her after that), she will not leap into water.
So we put her on the back of Kit's kayak. She was a little uncertain at first but then seemed to enjoy it.

She may not be a "ute dog", Dad, but she makes a pretty good Kayak dog (for any non Aussies, a ute is a pick up truck).

But eventually she got sick of it and thought she'd just jump off.

At this point I had to drop the camera and run up to get her as I knew she wouldn't be able to get up over the wall. I reached in and grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and hauled her out one handed. Very undignified. And after that, she wasn't coming near the water

How funny! You probably won't get her on it again! At least she could swim over. Wish I was out there with her as it looks delicious - better than frost and snow and rain, although it's a lovely sunny morning today!
