Some photos

Every evening Max the enormous submissive lab from over the back comes over to play with Honey. And every night I watch the gorgeous light from the setting sun over the reeds. Last night Max was busy, so I took the kids out for a walk and to take some photos:
I'd love to have a play around with these photos, but I'm having memory issues with both my computers...I need to sit down one day and clear out some stuff. At the moment they are totally as is. I'm just so glad they didn't cut the reeds this year; last year they were all just brown sticks sticking up. I should have taken some photos of the very few last remaining flowers I had in the garden (I had a poppy!) before the gardeners came and finished what they'd started and ripped everything out yesterday. I was so mad that if they'd still been here when I discovered it I swear I would have hit one of them. I complained to the landlord, but of course the owner of the gardening company is a friend of his. He offered to reimburse me, but it's not the cost. It's just so bloody frustrating to spend time and effort trying to make something beautiful and have people who know nothing about plants come and pull them out.
But on a happier note; look at all the egrets we have around at the moment. I was trying to get around further as there were more and also a blue herron all lined up along the wall there, but as I moved the herron flew away. There must be fish back in the pond. Much nicer than those nasty geese!

    Dear Georgia,

my name is Jodi. Thank you for the kind comment about the fairy house. I heard from Simmy how incredibly talented you are. I'd give anything to know how to make a granny square. And the cards you make look beautiful too. Anyway, I used to have a delicious recipe for tomato relish , I see if I can dig it up and send it on. I grow heirloom tomatos, so I know what it's like to come up with creative ways to use them up.

    Bye for now,

    Jodi Lenz

    * What I mean is I know what it's like to TRY to come up with creative ways to use them up. Usually I can't keep up and they end up rotting on the vine.
