It went off with a bang.

Oscar's party that is. We had 11 kids and 9 adults. Only 2 of them were Oscar's school friends; the rest assorted family. I love getting together a whole heap of kids of varying ages. They had a ball...13 down to 2 years. The kids had blow up guitars which they used for whacking each other, water pistals which led to changes of clothes and, when it got dark, fireworks. They're on sale here for 4th of July and we bought a big pack of them last week that were supposed to be a suprise for Oscar's party. And they were until Ella said today "you're not allowed down in the basement Oscar in case you see the fireworks". They were pretty lame really, compared to what we used to have on bonfire nights as kids. But the kids here LOVED them. And Oscar said he'd had a great birthday too, so it can't have gone off too badly.
