A chunk of wood

Matt just called from the hospital where Kit was having his surgery this morning. He's out and waking up and they got the chunk of wood out of his foot. Poor lad. He really is such a trooper that it's easy to underestimate how serious things are with him...he spent all yesterday running around with the others. The surgeon I saw yesterday (the best foot surgeon in the area-of course) wanted to put him under to minimise the damage to the foot when they went in there. He showed me the CT scan yesterday and it was over 1 cm long and pretty fat and almost straight in. We were hoping to leave for VT today, but we may have to wait until tomorrow just to make sure Kit's come out of the Operation OK. Matt will be really tired anyway as he had to get Kit to the hospital at 7 am this morning. And I don't drive on the freeways...yet...

very pleased to see we are still getting information about driving... so will obviously be told when you are ready for driving on freeways, my guess is by the trip back.
But I am a bit intrigued how even Kit managed to get a log into his foot. From now on he should be made to wear only RM Williams boots just to be on the safe side.
    love
