Sorry.
I cleaned up the study yesterday, sorted all my craft things, and then made a mess again. Actually I started the mammoth task of getting the kids photo albums up to date. I'm a year behind, and as you know I take a lot of photos.
As I was working away, I was constantly checking back to this blog to check dates. I noticed that some of the really old photos weren't loading anymore. So I decided that the time had come to turn my blog into a book. I want a hard copy of all that I've written about. Chelsea had told me about this place online, so I decided to give it a go. I only want to put 2006 into a book so far...hours and hours later I'm still at it. In fact I've decided to call it quits for tonight. For those of you considering doing this...get started now. The frustrating thing is that many of my old photos just won't upload to the book site. I have to go back, open them, re save them and then import them. The photos are also in all different sizes, so to get them clear they have to be really small in the book. I'm sure blogger indiscriminately makes the files smaller...but I found it was mostly the ones of the kids!
I will persevere with it, but I think I'll also do the first six months of this year next. I'd hate to loose all that information that I have stored. My blog has been like an open journal for me.
Oh, and I drove by myself in the car for the first time ever this morning...had to get bread and milk and Matt was still sleeping after working late. So I did it. And yes it terrified me, but I'm sure it will get easier.
Well done driving by yourself, keep it up as it's sure to get easier and then you can take me somewhere good when I come over! Hello & love from mum and Helena in freezing Cold Lightning Ridge where I'm sure it's only about 10 C and raining!! The drought has broken....at last!
ReplyDeleteDon't believe everything your Mum says about the drought breaking just yet, she is prone to exageration, and I suspect doesn't quite understand how big the Murray Darling Basin is and just how much water is needed...and as someone who has been waiting for the drought to break as my principle activity for the past couple of years or so let's just say there has been some good rain and as long as it continunes to rain like that for a month or more we may be able to talk about the drought breaking. In Wentworth the Darling is still flowing upstream from the Murray, though there is some hope that there will be some water flowing down towards the junction in about a month, some of the station owners are getting quite excited about that possibility.
ReplyDeleteNow... when you went for your drive...did you turn left or right going out of Purdy's Lane just want to know which shops you went to...but anyway , a very event.
And when you finish your photos you can take a trip to Wentworth to sort out the Mars photos into albums...1982 to 2007... as a good little daughter should. But possibly a bit far to drive all the way.
love
Dad
