I love it when the kids are on holiday. I love the freedom from routine. I love being able to stay up late and sleep in. I love being able to totally throw myself into what ever I'm doing. When I was a teenager I used to rearrange my room in the middle of the night. It's me in my natural state. So the last few nights I've stayed up well after everyone else has gone to bed crocheting like one possesed. Matt's also been sleeping up in Oscar's bed as I am still having coughing fits in the midddle of the night. So once he goes to bed it's just me, the TV and my crochet. I have finished my squares and started to join it together.
Although the going has been slower tonight as I was bitten on my fingers by the dog next door. It's a small white fluffy thing and the owners are away and I'm supposed to be feeding their cats...but the dog has different ideas...horrid little thing. I am a huge dog lover, but real dogs. Not those neurotic things that growl at the slightest thing. It's teeth went into three fingers...two of them right next to the nail. It hurt, but my first thought was "how can I crochet???". In fact it REALLY hurt, and slowed me down today. I have managed to keep crocheting, but it's been slower and more painful. I've had to stop now at 11.30 pm as my fingers are swollen and I can't straighten them and I think they need a rest. I'm also mad with that dog as I was supposed to be using the neighbours washing machine while they are away. Our basement is still drying out and I have no idea if the washer will work after sitting in 2 feet of water for a few days. It probably will, but I'm too scared to try the dryer...
So off to bed to read perhaps and enjoy the luxury of late nights and mornings.
you might need to entice the dog outside with a bone or something spo the coast is clear!
