Still no photos today. I am dying to post my productivity from my mini swap, but since I haven't sent my package yet I can't. Sorry Julie, if you are reading this...I may get out and do it today, but after standing at the bus stop with the kids this morning in -12 C (with wind gusts at -23) I really don't feel like a bus trip to the post office.

I also have to appologise for jumping the gun a bit and announcing the name of my new niece to a few family members. When my mum emailed me to say baby Mia had arrived, I assumed they had gone with the name they were discussing before she was born. But no. This morning an email straight from the horse's mouth (via my Dad) announced that they have decided to call her Sarah Melanie Mars. Lovely. For lots of reasons. Firstly because it is a very Anglo name which gives me hope that my brother will not be lost in Korea forever. (yeah, yeah, I know I can talk!) Secondly Mel was my grandmother's name...short for Merridy (which she hated), but the sentiment is there. And lastly because my brother Jake is the last Mars in our family. For a while he was considering the baby taking her mother's surname which is apparently common in Korea and that would have been it. I know she's a girl, but it gives me great hope that the Mars name might survive another generation or so. I am hoping to see some photos of my little niece "Is she brown or is she pink?" asked Ella. She's brown and no doubt gorgeous.

You should have also mentioned that the use of a shortened version of the second name is something which is quite appropriate for a child of the Snake.
But we still have to see a SJM IV (or V if we count my dad's uncle)but I suppose that can be next time.

I think the Mel part is a lovely sentiment too, and I agree she looks a bit like her dad, George. And what a handsome photo of Matt- connecticut and the new job must be agreeign ith him!
