A quarter

Of a year is how long we've been here. Today is our 3 month anniversary of being here in America. Amazing how it just sneaks up on you. We were only back in Sydney 9 lots of 3 months, and now we've been here for one. And yet it feels like we've been here such a short time.

And today we went back to Bear Mt., this time with 2 other families who both had kids too. So there were 7 adults and 9 kids...very difficult to co ordinate, but we had a good time. It was cold and windy, very autumnal weather, but I'm still waiting for those leaves to really turn.

We went to the little zoo which had local animals in tiny cages (very sad, but then again they were rescued injured animals so I guess that counts for something). At least the kids get to see these animals up very close...bob cat, cyote, foxes, bears, otter, beaver and a wonderful array of owls and eagles. But not great conditions. But I suppose when they're charging $1 for adults and 50c for kids they don't have access to huge funds.



















I always find it hard going out on a Sunday as I know we need to get he kids home and fed in good time to go to bed before school the next day. So we left fairly early.

And it is such a cold evening that we lit our first fires in one of our fireplaces. Oscar is lying in front of it right now. Doesn't kick out a huge amount of heat, but it's nice to have. So now I have to sort dinner out (Matt's not been feeling very well and may have the kids' tummy bug so he's napping on the couch.
