Studio update

Sleeping in my studio tonight.  Sometimes it just feels so decadent to have my own room and I felt like staying up a little longer and working on some cacti.  And it feels kind of special to sleep in here too.

I've done a big tidy up/rearrange over the last few weeks, so I thought I'd share...
Unfortunately I had to throw out my big red wool box (like the small red one on the bottom shelf) as the sides split beyond repair.  This new shelving unit from IKEA is doing the trick though.
The corner for all my paper work/books and student art work.
My desk featuring cacti and a quilt under repair at the moment.
The best storage cabinet ever full of fabric and art materials and all kinds of things
And my bed/couch.  My favourite place to sit and work on things.
 My slowly growing cacti collection
And this quilt was being used by our previous helper (it's mine) after she moved out I noticed it had rips in it everywhere (I have 3 the same and I've never had any problems with them) so I thought I'd have a go at some Japanese "bork" style mending.  It doesn't show well here, but I love the look of this (this hole had ripped through all 3 layers of the quilt so has a back patch as well) and it's really fun to do too.  I thought it would be a good way to patch some stains too.  I'll let you know how I get on with that...

It's late and I have quite a busy week ahead with Matt in London next week and Remi still doing his final exams...
